A trench coat is one of those things that everyone needs in their closet. Male, female, young, old. It really goes with everything. A great trench is that perfect transitional season coat.
One of the best things I ever did was invest in this custom moodbyme trench coat. It cost me less than many of the mid priced brands (I am looking at you JCREW, Banana Republic, Club Monaco) and it is that one thing in my closet I can guarantee I will get complimented on when I wear it; even in Holt Renfrew where a trench coat can cost you a few grand.
I love that if you wearing something classic, dressy or even just jeans or something edgier it goes. Seriously if you haven’t got a trench coat in your closet dedicate part of your Spring Budget to getting yourself one.

If you have the budget do both. The traditional one will last season after season. Long after you aren't into the blush colour anymore.
