Saying the word animal print conjures up images of leopard and cheetah. And it has been having a moment, maybe a saturated one at that. It may just be a fashion blogger thing but I am pretty sure everyone owns a pair of leopard print heels. No? Well maybe you should get yourself a pair!
Still I think that leopard and cheetah are going to have to move over and make room for snakeskin.
What I think snakeskin has going for it is its versatility. While I have made the case for animal print being a neutral, I think this can me more easily seen with s subtle snake print. Plus when embossed on leather it adds texture as well as print.

I have been rocking everything from a snakeskin bag to a dress and boots, so it is safe to say I am a bit obsessed, but now is the time to pick something up and weave it into your wardrobe. Vintage bags are another fun way to infuse some snakeskin, particularly structured bags from the 1940s. There is a great selection at I Miss You Vintage on Ossington.
