One of a Kind Show #ooaktwasthenight

Tonight I was honoured to take part in the inaugural One of a Kind Show Blogger Challenge. We (Gracie Carroll, Jennifer Flores & myself) presented our Top 5 Picks from the Show and how they fit our inspiration for T’was the Night Before Christmas.

I was really impressed with how both Gracie & Jennifer presented their picks. I really wish I had of thought to bring a Christmas throw to drape over the table top and take my presentation up a notch!

blogger challenge top 5 picks

My Top 5 picks included many of the vendors I have bought from this year or in previous years. Chocolates from Milsean, Shortbread from Coach House, Tall Mug from Leishman Pottery, Sheepskin slippers from Lanark Sheepskin and Pillow Buddy from Velvet Moustache.

Of course the Blogger Challenge had a theme. I tried to paint a picture of a family enjoying the Night Before Christmas, noshing on gourmet chocolates, sipping hot coco, hanging in our jammies and watching Christmas movies. The calm before the craziness of opening gifts and commuting to see family.

one of a kind show shopping

I stayed after the show (it was open until 11 pm AND free parking!) to do some shopping and shared a few more of my favourites via instagram and twitter. I fell for the knits at Simple Smiles, the antique tin tiles framed as art at Tin House Designs and the sweet smells at Wild Prairie Soap Company. Also impressed with old favourites like Atelier B and Vintage Baby Revival.

I have had some people ask me if it is worth going to the One of a Kind show. Personally I love it. I grew up going to craft shows and this is like the grandaddy of all craft shows. In fact I don’t even like to call it a craft show as everything is more like wearable, edible art. I am not saying you are going to fall in love with every booth, but there is something for everyone.

If you like etsy, you will love the One of a Kind Show. It is big so if you can break up your shopping into two visits it is totally worth it. Either that or make sure you sit down and take a break half way through.

There are still three days to shop, so get some tickets and get over there! Already looking forward to the Spring One of a Kind Show.
