What I wore

Skinny Cargos for Summer & tips on dressing cool.

It’s true that skinny cargos aren’t exactly the trend of the moment anymore but I still like to wear mine as a fun alternative to jeans. I saw this pin and I knew I could duplicate the look with items from my closet.

Even though it has been 30+ degrees lately, this outfit is one I could manage in the heat, especially if the day involved going back and forth between air conditioning and outside.

The gladiator sandals are new and have quickly become my favourites because they required absolutely no breaking in!

How have you been handling the heat? Have you been wearing as little as possible? Or dressing in layers to manage the temperature difference between inside (cool air conditioning) and outside (super hot and sweaty?).

I find that whether I am wearing shorts and a tank, a dress or even the outfit featured here, it is all about breathable cotton. Even this tunic and skinnies combo is cooler than man-made non breathable fabrics.

Although I wouldn’t want to spend too much time in the sun in this top; it could lead to some unfortunate tan lines. The cut outs do offer some extra airation to keep cool.

Otherwise I have been beating the heat by sticking my toes in the kiddie pool and drinking tall glasses of ice-cold water. It also helps that I have lost some inches off my hair recently!
