Easy Cottage Style; shorts & a t-shirt

When it comes to getting dressed at the cottage, I really don’t put alot of thought into my outfits. I fall back onto easy, simple pairings like a t-shirt and shorts.

I could have easily called this post black and blue. It’s one of those outfit colour combos I would have avoided in the past as it could be bruise like. But really I think it works.

I tend to stick with light cotton shorts in the summer and these pale blue pair are new. I thought they were a fun colour that still reads fairly neutral. They do make me feel a bit like I should be lawn bowling but that is synonymous with summer right?

One thing I don’t do when I head up to the cottage is switch my bag. So even though I feel like this Foely + Corinna embossed snake-skin bag is a bit “City” I like the contradiction between it and my casual weekend look.

This outfit is so simple it has been a wardrobe staple since I stopped shopping in kid stores in the 1990’s. What outfit do you fall back onto in the heat of the summer?
